Welcome to HoboTears.org I am so happy to have the opportunity to share with you some of my projects and experience around moto camping. As I travel across the United States, so many people show genuine interest in the tiny campers I tow behind motorcycles. I often spend hours showing my work and describing how this hobby is carried out. I have wanted so much to be able to just share a url or YouTube Channel. However, creating content takes a great deal of time as well. Maybe that is why I have hesitated in sitting down and creating the digital part of my vision.
Many people encourage me to do it all on a social media platform. However, without going too deep down the rabbit hole, I just do not trust those platforms. While I will use YouTube and maybe eventually Facebook, they own your work. Not too long ago I watched YouTube pull down years of videos from a creator because he spoke too politically. By creating my own website, I a creating a home for share my hobbies, thoughts, and opinions. It is a space that I have control over. This provides a platform flexible enough to grow if I should decide to take it in a different direction.
Currently, my vision is to just share all the lessons I have learned about building teardrop campers and towing them behind motorcycles. The fact is I have had to learn way too many lessons through trail and error. Mainly because the information found on the web just not reliable. I believe that this is because people often apply automotive towing rules to motorcycles and that is just not the case. Now that I have a few years of moto camping under my belt, I want to share construction techniques and safety tips. I also would like to speak about other areas of motorcycling that I do not see shared anywhere else. In addition, this site provides a home to my personal blog. Check it out and bookmark so you can come back and see what is going on in my world.
